Yes, Elon Musk and Vitalik Buterin might be the founders of Shiba Inu. At least one old deleted tweet seems to suggest a connection between these two prominent tech moguls and one of the most popular cryptocurrencies.
Some curious users have traced tweets and replies between Elon Musk, SpaceX and Tesla co-founder, and Vitalik Buterin, who is one of the fathers of Ethereum.
Back in 2019 Musk and Buterin presumably made a couple of tweets that could have pointed to their direct involvement in creation of Shiba Inu.
A popular meme cryptocurrency is one of the most popular and one of the most discussed topics of the crypto market.
Now a theory appeared suggesting that both tech moguls might be the inventors of Shiba Inu. If so, they have been trying to keep it secret in a quite different way.
Musk is known for publicly supporting both of the dog-related meme cryptocurrencies – Dogecoin and Shiba Inu.
Buterin has been more discreet never actually showing his interest in Shiba Inu.
But of course, the theory may be wrong. Let’s take a closer look at it.
Could Elon Musk and Vitalik Buterin be founders of Shiba Inu?
The authors of the theory claim that everything started it all started April 30, 2019. That day Elon Musk sent out a tweet with one word “Ethereum”.
In just about an hour Vitalik Buterin replied: “You should come to our Devcon in October :).”
A few minutes later Musk replied to Buterin, “What should be developed on Ethereum?”.
Few hours later Vitalik Buterin deleted his replies under Elon Musk’s initial “Ethereum” tweet.
But it was too late as the chat between two famous tech leaders had already made headlines, with all the screenshots, of course.
It is quite easy to surmise that Vitalik Buterin invited Elon Musk to Devcon in October 2019 to discuss something between. We don’t know what it was, but evidently it was to be discussed privately. And it was probably about their plans to develop something on top of Ethereum.
Shiba Inu – an experiment in decentralization
More that a year later, in August, 2020, a Medium blog was published by Ryoshi, who is officially a Shiba Inu founder.
It was titled, “ALL HAIL THE SHIBA! (an experiment in decentralization).”
In the post Ryoshi briefly mentions he had met a friend in Devcon, Osaka in the previous year. That friend in question “had some influence” in the crypto space and and “he agreed to help”.
The post also claimed that the “vision” had been well received by both parties. And this vision eventually led to the birth of the Shiba Inu token.
Basically, we never get to know who Ryushi was in real life. Anyway, it is clear that two influential figures met at Devcon and invented Shiba Inu there.
In his later post Ryoshi claimed he owned no SHIB tokens because of the importance of the role he played in the foundation of Shiba Inu.
About a year later Elon Musk gave a suspiciously concise answer to a direct question from a Twitter follower about how much SHIB he was holding. Musk replied that he had no SHIB at all.
Users have also pointed out that some of Ryoshi’s thoughts about “top guys who control everything” vaguely reminded them of the Musk’s usual rhetoric.
So were Elon Musk and Vitalik Buterin the mysterious guys who created Shiba Inu? We’ll probably never know. And the aforementioned evidence is clearly not enough to reach the verdict.
But it is still a quite interesting conspiracy theory, right?
Why would Elon Musk and Vitalik Buterin want to create something like Shiba Inu? What could their purpose have been? And have they actually achieved that purpose?
