Ukraine receives huge crypto donation from The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT Collection. $1 million went straight to Ukraine’s official Ethereum wallet address.
The famous NFT collection sent 388.999 ETH (a little over $1 million at the moment) to Ukraine after being inspired by its community members’ contributions. A lot of NFT owners care much about Ukrainian people struggling from Russia’s invasion.
According to different sources, to date, Ukraine has received over $88 million in cryptocurrency donations. The Ukrainian government now has about $7 million in Ethereum in its official wallet.
Currently, the BAYC is the second-largest NFT collection of all time based on marketplace OpenSea’s rankings with its whopping 417,000 ETH ($1 billion) in secondary sales. The BAYC has become a cultural symbol in the NFT world. A lot of celebrities like Eminem and Jimmy Fallon are taking part in the collection.
NFTs are unique non fungible tokens that exist on a blockchain such as Ethereum or Polygon and signify ownership of an asset. For example you can own a picture or a sound minted an NFT. And this asset will be yours only.
